ashrock | digital was founded in 2011 by Ash Roughani, a social innovator and expert in enterprise collaboration, strategic communications, and public policy.  In an increasingly specialized world, Ash is a rare generalist with the capacity to integrate seemingly disparate elements into a unified strategy and provide clients with turnkey execution.  Using a design thinking approach, he strives to deliver an end-to-end consulting experience that emphasizes quality, function, and value.

Ash was most recently senior associate at California Forward where he performed policy research, data analysis, strategic planning, workflow integration, digital collaboration, and project management. Prior to joining California Forward, Ash was a policy analyst at the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency where he also served as an executive fellow through the California Executive Fellowship Program.

Ash is an MBA candidate at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Sacramento, where he also completed a certificate program in Collaborative Governance.

Ash earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy with an emphasis on ethics and public policy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. It was there that he co-founded the Campus Political Union at UCSB, which aimed at fostering civil discourse between students with divergent political viewpoints.

When he’s not trying to change the world, Ash enjoys jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. He was also founder of the California Moderate Party, a startup organization focused on decreasing political gridlock in Congress and the California State Legislature.
